As a sensitive person I struggled for many years (decades) to handle all of the energy and information I encountered on a daily basis. At a young age I was overwhelmed with all of the energy conflicts, expectations, and demands of the world, many of which did not make sense to me. I knew I needed to release problems that I encountered but did not know how. Sometimes I still struggle but these days I have an easier time. The reason I feel more comfortable is not because the world has become easier but because I have tools to help me handle the volumes of information I need to digest and come to terms with. In the process, I find it is easier to release problems that are not mine, because I found a new perspective on what I was encountering.

Most Strategies Are Not Enough

Sensitive people are offered many strategies for handling their sensitivity. Many are excellent. I am a meditator and partial to Ayurveda. I am also a Reiki master. I use many different strategies to help myself. Personally I think we need more.

The world we live in has become so fast, complex and fragmented that it is very difficult to process information fast enough to respond in a timely way to people and situations around us. We have to build up a body of experience that we can draw on in order to become faster and wiser in how we relate to the world. That is fine as far as it goes, however, there is no way that anyone can develop a large enough inner library of experiences to respond effectively to the huge number of issues and contexts of modern life.

Sensitive people may connect easily with sensory information but that does not mean that are as good at understanding what they are encountering because sensory information does not come with a manual on how to use it nor with information about the context for it. We have to develop those skills ourselves. The more we develop ourselves in this way, the greater our abiity to offer our gifts to the world in a way that is constructive and valuable.

Many sensitive people reduce their interaction with the world and a certain amount of that is necessary in order to recharge and get necessary rest. But that is not all that we can do not is it necessarily the best or ideal choice. I have found solutions that make it much easier to process information and make decisions that still honor my sensitive nature and help me stay authentic at the same time. They are frameworks which are like road maps for the human world.

The Importance Of Frameworks

Frameworks are like road maps. They give you the lay of the land so that you can make decisions that are right for you and the situation you are working with. They do not actually tell you what to do but they help you be more aware and help you ask new questions that can make decisions easier and more effective. There is no one size fits all in life and that includes people and situations. Frameworks provide you the deeper patterns that govern how people show up in the world and what they seek and need. The more you know about these patterns the easier it is for you to navigate the world and the more confident you will be.

There are many frameworks but some have proven to be exceptionally useful for sensitive people. This is how one person described the benefits of learning frameworks:

We are all conditioned to fit in and conform. However, we are created to reform and redefine to be human. Creating is all about expressing our own unique self. Maria’s course material and coaching provided me with knowledge and safety to stop the resistance and move into the awareness of my being.

Release Problems That Are Not Yours

How can you now when a problem is yours and when it is not? It is hard to do when you simply look at issues, challenges and conflicts as personal. Most people live from a mindset that is fairly complex so at an interpersonal level, unless you have the same mindset, you will have difficulty getting to a good place with those who live from a different place.

Sensitive Evolution focuses on elevating the contribution and success of sensitive people by helping them have a more complete understanding of what their sensitivity is telling them. We do that through our courses and our Emerging Sensitive Movie Club. Check it out.
