The Importance Of Slowing The Biological Clock

We all have a natural state of flow and balance. Our biological knows the right pace for itself. Most people find it difficult to maintain the ideal, natural pace for themselves because they are so busy. The result is chronic physical, emotional and psychological stress.

Slowing the biological clock can reduce stress and improve health and resilience. One way to do so is to establish a daily schedule and routine that is sane and well paced. Sensitive people have a high need to a healthy daily schedule and self-pacing.

“A daily routine is absolutely necessary to bring radical change in the body, mind, and consciousness.  Routine helps to establish balance in one’s constitution.  It also regularizes a person’s biological clock,” according to noted Ayurvedic physician Vasant Lad, B.A.M.S., M.A.Sc. in his Articles on Ayurveda

Synchronicity and Slowing the Biological Clock

In our society we take stress for granted.  It is just a fact of life.  Isn’t it?  So what is the big deal?  Does it really make a difference?  And if so, why?

The answer lies in synchronicity. According to Deepak Chopra in his book, SynchroDestiny, “Our bodies behave synchronistically all the time.  Whenever there’s even a slight perturbation in the physical body, the whole body reacts. For example, suppose you haven’t eaten all day, so your blood sugar level starts to drop.  Immediately a whole synchronicity of events works to bring your blood sugar back up.  The pancreas secretes a hormone called glucagon, which converts stored sugar in the liver into glucose, which immediately becomes available for energy.  In addition, fat cells release fatty acids and glucose into the bloodstream, and the nervous system stimulates skeletal muscles to give up their glucose stores.  All these things happen at once.  Insulin levels will go down and your heart rate will speed up to mobilize energy.  Nearly a million things will happen in the body with the intention of bringing that sugar level back to normal.  All of this could be possible only through nonlocal communication, information correlated faster than the speed of light, outside the bounds of standard physics.”[1]

This nonlocal intelligence is also the intelligence we can use for slowing the biological clock, the intelligence of nature that we all rely on, when it is overstressed and out of balance.  This intelligence is life affirming.  It is what animals rely on that makes them often seem smarter than humans.

 HSPs Slowing the Biological Clock

HSP’s have a naturally open nature, that enables them to connect with the intelligence of nature fairly easily – the intelligence that helps them stay true to themselves. The contented feeling that comes from synchronicity with our deeper nature and listening to our inner wisdom about self-care is a function of deep connection – a connection that is best achieved by living in a natural state of flow and often requires that we slow the biological clock to get there.

Deep connection is life itself, and it is available to sensitive people.  Highly sensitive people can draw on their natural capacity for deep connection to promote their own health and the health of others, using their sensitivity for slowing their biological clock and help others to do the same.  This capacity may be a reason that so many HSPs become healers.
